Hello there, everyone! My name is Ryan Pugliese and I am currently a Senior at Rutgers University-New Brunswick pursuing a double major in both History and Political Science. My career goal is to one day become a High School History Teacher in New Jersey. History has always been a passion of mine, as I find it fascinating how we still recognize and honor figures such as Alexander the Great, Egyptian Pharaohs, and the Founding Fathers even though all have been dead for centuries. Our bodies may age and die, but our actions will far outlive us. Our deeds and hopes take flight on their own, shaping a future we could never imagine.

I have always believed that understanding history is critical to navigating the present and building a better future for the entire planet. But my passion in teaching comes from a desire to help others and allow them to discover their own passions. Teachers offer an outlet to support students and empower them to make changes not only in their own lives, but in the lives of others. In the end, my main goal is that when I am on my deathbed I will be able to say that I worked to create a better world than the one I was born in.

  1. I am a former teacher and principal and appreciate your enthusiasm for history. Be aware that you often teach a curriculum not selected by you. If you can work in your thoughts, you’ll do great! Nice blog.
